This coveted 1700 Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel Wildman 24 Mariengroschen silver coin is a Holy Roman Empire numismatic treasure.
Struck under Rudolf August and Anton Ulrich, it traded across Baltic routes during the Great Northern War. The Wildman (Wilder Mann), a Harz Mountains heraldic symbol, stood for the duchy’s sovereignty and local silver-mining wealth.
The obverse depicts the Wildman with Latin inscriptions; the reverse bears the 1700 date, 24 Mariengroschen denomination, fein Silber mark and rare motto REMIGIO IN DIMISSILIA. Its natural patina and circulation wear hold over 300 years of history.
