Coin History

This iconic Mexican 8 Reales “Eagle Dollar” was issued by the Mexican Republic after winning independence from Spain. Our specimens are the Mo‑AM variety, struck at the Mexico City mint with assayer mark AM. Produced from 1889 to 1897, it was one of the most important international trade silver coins of the 19th century.
